Andrea Vranić
Psychologist
Andrea Vranić is an associate professor at the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb.
She holds a number of courses in the field of cognitive psychology, and her research deals with the application of theoretical knowledge, primarily through research on the empowerment and training of executive functions, working memory, and fluid reasoning in healthy, younger and older adults, and in people with dementia.
She is the head of the research project of the Croatian Science Foundation entitled Affective Cognitive Training: cognitive, behavioral, and neural effects and a collaborator in several international and domestic scientific projects.
She has published around 50 scientific papers. She regularly cooperates with a number of institutions and associations, primarily in the field of care for the elderly in the Zagreb area (Homes for the elderly and infirm of the City of Zagreb, Croatian Association for Alzheimer's Disease, Department for Biological Psychiatry and Psychogeriatrics University Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče, Association of Disabled Workers).
She is the winner of the Annual Award of the Association of University Teachers for Young Scientists and the Gold Medal for Innovation (ARCA, 2022) for the design of cognitive training for people with mild cognitive impairment and dementia.
