Sandra Zugan
Nutritionist
Sandra Zugan graduated with a degree in nutrition at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology in Zagreb in 2015. During her studies, she discovered her love for diet therapy.
She gained knowledge through training at the Ospedale Civile Maggiore hospital in Verona in 2013, at the Croatian Society for Celiac Disease Celiko Center in 2013 and 2014, at the Zagreb Association for Helping Girls with Eating Disorders at the Centre for Eating disorders BEA from 2013, and then at the Polyclinics in where she got a job as a nutritionist.
She has been a member of the Italian Society of Human Nutrition SINU (Società Italiana di Nutrizione Umana) since 2017.
She describes herself as an introverted philanthropist. That is why she dedicates her life to working with people. The goal of her work is to improve people's quality of life - through better dietary decisions and a better attitude towards food. It aims to teach people how to nurture their bodies through the act of eating.
Nurture, not console. Her work is a fusion of diet therapy and phytotherapy – therapy with herbal preparations.
With phytotherapy, we act faster to reduce ailments so that we can dedicate ourselves to improving our diet, which takes time, but ensures health in the long run. Aware that nutrition is only one branch of the health tree, she likes to work with a team of colleagues: kinesiotherapists, psychotherapists, and doctors to promote people's overall health.
There is no end to her research spirit, so in 2019, she enrolled in a postgraduate specialist study in phytopharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. In her specialist thesis, she writes about the impact of the coronavirus infection on the intestinal microbiota.
